A SUPER Simple Ayurvedic Morning Practice to Feel Leaner + Improve Digestion

The science of Ayurveda is very comprehensive so I'm just going to share one tip with you today and that is when you first get up in the morning, drink a glass of warm water with lemon or lime juice. You can do this after you've brushed your teeth. This will cleanse your digestive tract and jump start the agni, or digestive fire and set you up for good metabolism and digestion for the day. The warm water also serves to stimulate your digestive tract and flush out unwanted toxins.
I personally like to use lemon juice. You can buy fresh lemons and squeeze them beforehand and keep the juice in a jar in the fridge ready to add to your hot water in the morning. When I was living in L.A. last year for a few months, I used to pick fresh lemons from the tree in the backyard. There is nothing as tasty as fresh fruit juice freshly picked off the tree! Mmmm. I would recommend trying it everyday for a week and seeing what changes you may notice. For me, I always feel leaner and have easier bowel movements when I drink lemon water first thing.
