I filmed this at the Tokyo Airport after a long flight from San Francisco. Thankfully I had my travel yoga mat with me so I popped it out of my backpack (it's foldable) and found a cozy corner to do some stretching. I recommend these exercises if you have just been on a long flight or have been sitting at a desk all day. Some notes:
Inhale when raising your shoulders and exhale when they come down for the first few exercises.
For the spinal flex with your hands on your knees, inhale when you bring your chest forward and up and exhale when you extend back. Continue breath for all three hand positions.
Inhale when your neck rolls back, exhale when it comes forward.
Long deep breathing for the last shoulder stretches.
In Kundalini Yoga, your breath is an essential part of the movements. It helps you deepen your stretch and re-oxigenate your blood and your brain. Breathe DEEPLY! If you get lightheaded pause the video and just take a few long deep breaths. You may not be used to using the full capacity of your lungs! Most people aren't! Crazy concept but it's true.
